VR Safety Protocol
Protocol for conducting serious games in virtual reality with VR headsets, intended for professionals working with children with communication disorders.
The document covers contraindications, preparation before a VR session, rules during the intervention, monitoring for cybersickness symptoms, and actions after the session. When conversational artificial intelligence is used in serious games in virtual reality, the key principles described in point 3 of the Ethical Framework under the ATLog project should be applied.
Contraindications
Epilepsy, visual abnormalities, heart disease, psychiatric or vestibular disorders; minimum age 5 years.
Preparation
Informed consent, VR headset setup, health condition check, calibration and preparation of a safe environment.
During the Session
Seated position, constant monitoring, sound control, and immediate termination in case of discomfort.
After the Session
Monitoring for cybersickness symptoms and checking coordination and balance after the VR intervention.
